Linkedin closed Video ads in early 2013... But I keep seeing a self ad of Linkedin, about video advertising on Linkedin. Might this mean, that you'll be able to advertise on Linkedin with video?
As my Linkedin contact AJ Wilcox tells:
LinkedIn sunsetted the video ads feature back in early 2013
As I've learned Linkedin has already created a native video platform on SlideShare, which might be the platform where the video ads will be powered by. This is how AJ hacked the existing Linkedin Ads system:
I created a sponsored updates campaign where I superimposed the 'Play' button on top of the image, so it appears to be a video. I did the same thing to the 50x50 images in Text Ads. That way when someone clicks through, they're expecting a video, and I put one on the landing page. It's an extra step, but they appeared to perform well above average.
Linkedin SlideShare is a Web 2.0 based slide hosting service.
Started in 2006
bought by Linkedin in 2012
still kept the name on browser, but lost the favicon (the little blue dot for DrLinkedin.com on top of your screen; the blue square and white in for Linkedin or dark blue square and white f for Facebook);
while in app they have their own icon
So I think Linkedin already has video ads, specially if you use AJ Wilcox's great Linkedin Ads hack.
