For ages the market was built up like XING is the professional social media platform for the German language countries.
But as you might see, Linkedin is more than double as strong in Switzerland, as XING, while in Austria its almost head to head. In Germany it might need an other1.6 million to go, but as XING doesn't grow Linkedin does, so this growth won't take more than a year.
So I can assume, that in less than a year, Linkedin will reign the German market from (the latest) mid 2015.
The question is whether XING will sit and wait, or run forward to find new markets and grow.
